Sexuality & Gender Affirming Counseling
where you can be your genuine, vibrant self
Whether you are exploring or coming to terms with new aspects of yourself, sharing your identity with others for the first time, or adjusting to a loved one who has recently come out to you, sexuality and gender are deeply personal and nuanced topics.
It is normal to experience uncertainty, grief, and excitement all at once in any of these situations.
Together, we can navigate them with curiosity and compassion to more deeply understand yourself and others in your life.
You might also have landed on this page because you want to be sure that this will be a safe place to be your whole self while we work on other things. I strive to create a space that is not just accepting, but welcoming and affirming of the full spectrum of sexuality and gender.
All of you is welcome here.
Curious about how I can help you get to a place of confidence and acceptance?
Each person’s needs and goals are as unique as their identities, but some common things we might work on together include:
learning the language and communication skills to navigate newly shared identities with loved ones
processing societal pressures and cultural messaging around what sexuality and gender are “supposed” to look like
finding acceptance and joy in your experience and expression of your identities
holding the complex and contradicting blend of emotions as you begin to see yourself and others more clearly
We can find your authentic self together.

That is totally okay! I am not here to tell you what you are or are not, or to force you to choose any particular label. We can talk through your unique experience, and determine from there whether any particular language will be helpful in communicating this experience to others if you want. No pressure.

I take a sex-positive approach to therapy, and LGBTQIA+ identities and orientation labels aren’t the only things to talk about when it comes to sexuality. Anything that influences your experience of sex and sexuality is welcome to be discussed.

I am committed to ongoing education and self-reflection to reduce the burden on you to explain terminology, and you will never have to justify who you are to me. However, everyone’s particular blend of identities and lived experiences is unique to them, and I won’t presume to know what meanings these have to you.

Sounds good to me! Gender and sexuality can deeply influence our lives in many ways, but they aren’t the only thing that defines us. I am more than happy to discuss how these parts of you do (and do not) show up in other areas of your life, as well as to simply understand them as background about you while we focus on other things.

It depends on your insurance policy, and whether I am in-network. If you’re paying out-of-pocket, the costs are static and transparent. You can find more information about insurance and fees here.
